Auld Lang Syne

Auld Lang Syne
A.KA. 'old long since', or 'long ago', or 'days gone by'....

The first two lines of the lyrics seem to be an allusion (although perhaps not consciously intended) to Isaiah 65:17, which reads:

Behold, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.

Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne

Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll take a cup o'kindness yet
And days of auld lang syne

Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne

Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne
