From the desk of President Carter

"I never asked for nothin I don't demand of myself
Honesty, loyalty, friends and then wealth
Death before dishonor and I tell you what else
I'll tighten my belt 'fore I beg for help
Foolish pride is what held me together through the years I wasn't felt
which is why I ain't never played myself
I just play the hand I'm dealt,
I can't say I've never knelt
before God and asked for better cards at times to no avail
But I never sat back feelin sorry for myself
If you don't give me heaven, I raise hell"

Lyric of the week (week ??)

It’s been a long time, since I left you,
Without a dope rhyme to step to.

So here’s one. I’ve gotta go meet with Dr. Hoabs, I hope I have something good.
Don’t loose heart, I’m still blogging.

I love you Porgy
George Gershwin –1935

I loves you, porgy,
Don’t let him take me
Don’t let him handle me
And drive me mad
If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
And I’ll be glad

Yes I loves you, porgy,
Don’t let him take me
Don’t let him handle me
With his hot hands
If you can keep me
I wants to stay here with you forever
I’ve got my man

I loves you, porgy,
Don’t let him take me
Don’t let him handle me
And drive me mad
If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
I’ve got my man

Someday I know he’s coming to call me
He’s going to handle me and hold me
So, it’ going to be like dying, porgy
When he calls me
But when he comes I know I’ll have to go

I loves you, porgy,
Don’t let him take me
Honey, don’t let him handle me
And drive me mad
If you can keep me
I wanna stay here with you forever
I’ve got my man

Better Left Unsaid

Some things are better left unsaid. It's a cliché, I know, but it's true.
I believe in clichés. They normally become cliché because the truths in them warrant repeating. But I whole heartedly believe that some things are better left unsaid.

Now typically I am a "point the elephant out in the room” kind of guy but I realize that there are times when you need to not say, talk about, or ask some things, because they are better left unsaid.

My new years resolution was one that required more honest open communication, no holding back what I want to say. But I have realized that can get you in a whole lot of trouble. And you can wind up taking a thought out of the oven of your mind before it is done.

And I think that some situations are like the old folks would say about playing cards being dealt, you don't pick them up too early because "the cards can change." You see if you pick your cards up while they are being dealt, you see each one and what you perceive as reality cannot change. I believe in that. And that's why I think some things are better left unsaid.

I believe that sometimes the most honest communication is in a look, body language, a facial expression, what you do, what you don't do, and in attitudes and these sometimes speak more truth than our words do.

And so... some things, my friend, are better left unsaid.
